Resource Licensing
The Irwin System™ resources are designed to be used actively in teaching and learning. Every resource is supplied with a licence that defines who may use it, reproduce learner-facing pages, and share it within secure educational settings.
Purchasing or downloading a resource grants permission to use it within the stated licence scope. Copyright and ownership remain with Niwha W. Irwin.
Choose the Right Licence
Individual Educator Licence
For one named educator and the learners they personally teach, supervise, or directly support.
An Individual Educator Licence allows the purchaser to:
use the purchased edition indefinitely
print learner-facing pages for their own classes
provide learner pages through a secure class learning platform
make reasonable accessibility and classroom-delivery adjustments
The source PDF or ZIP may not be shared with colleagues or placed on a staff-wide drive. The licence follows the educator if they change schools.
Single-School Licence
For current staff and enrolled learners at one named school and physical campus.
A Single-School Licence allows the school to:
share the resource internally with current staff and authorised contractors
store it on secure school drives and internal systems
print learner-facing pages for enrolled learners
provide learner pages through password-protected learning platforms
use the purchased edition indefinitely
The licence does not extend to another school, campus, trust entity, Kāhui Ako member, external provider, or community organisation.
Multi-Site or Organisation Licence
For Kāhui Ako, trusts, tertiary providers, multi-campus schools, educational organisations, and other groups requiring use across more than one site.
These licences are tailored to the named organisations, sites, users, and intended use. No network-wide or organisation-wide permission arises from a purchase made by one employee or member school.
Free Resources
Unless a resource expressly states otherwise, free downloads are supplied under an Individual Educator Licence.
Educators are welcome to direct colleagues to the Resource Library so they can obtain their own authorised copy. A free resource may not be uploaded to a shared staff drive or redistributed as a source file without school-level permission or written approval.
What the Licences Commonly Permit
Within the applicable licence scope, educators and schools may:
display and use resources during teaching and learning
print or photocopy reasonable quantities of learner-facing pages
provide learner materials through secure, password-protected platforms
make reasonable accessibility adjustments
retain secure backup and archival copies
What the Licences Do Not Permit
Unless written permission has been provided, resources may not be:
forwarded or shared outside the licensed group
uploaded to publicly accessible websites, drives, repositories, or social-media accounts
resold, sublicensed, or commercially redistributed
used to provide paid third-party professional learning or consultancy
rebranded or published as another person’s work
uploaded for generative-AI training, fine-tuning, corpus building, or the creation of competing materials
distributed with copyright, attribution, trade-mark, or licence information removed
Proof, Duration, and Future Editions
The order receipt, invoice, or written licence schedule is proof of permission.
Unless expressly stated otherwise, licences are perpetual for the edition purchased. They do not automatically include later editions, new resources, professional learning, facilitation, or continuing support.
